1. About This Policy

INP DocReader ("we," "our," "us," or the "App") is a document reader and editor for InPage (.inp) files and other common document formats. This Privacy Policy explains what information the App collects, why it is collected, how it is stored, and how you can control it.

By using the App you agree to the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, please uninstall the App and contact us to request deletion of any data already collected.

3. Information We Collect

The App operates in two modes — Guest (read-only documents, no account required) and Logged-in (full editing, invite, and rewards features).

Information collected when you create an account or sign in:

  • Phone number — used to identify your account
  • Password — a SHA-256 hash of your password is stored on our servers. Your raw password is never stored or transmitted in plain text.
  • Android ID — a hardware-derived device identifier used to uniquely identify your device
  • Device name, manufacturer, and model (e.g., Samsung Galaxy A54)
  • Android OS version and SDK level (e.g., Android 14, SDK 34)
  • Local IP address — the device's network IP at the time of each sign-in
  • Login timestamps — date and time of each sign-in, stored for security purposes

Information collected only with your permission:

  • Device contact list (names and phone numbers) — only if you grant the READ_CONTACTS permission. See Section 5 for full details.

Information we do NOT collect:

  • Your real name
  • GPS location
  • Photos or camera data
  • The contents of any documents you open or edit — documents are processed entirely on your device and are never uploaded to our servers.

Guest mode: No account data is collected. You can open and read documents without providing any personal information.

4. How We Use Your Information

  • Phone number and password hash — to create and authenticate your account.
  • Contact list — to show you which of your contacts already use the App and to enable the friend-invite feature. Contact data is used for no other purpose.
  • Android ID and device information — to associate each device with your account, keep multiple users on the same device separate, and monitor login sessions for security.
  • Local IP address — logged for security and fraud-prevention only. Not used for location tracking or advertising.
  • Credits and referral activity — to maintain your coin balance and correctly award rewards to you and friends you invite.

We do not sell, rent, or share any personal information with third parties. We do not use any data for advertising or profiling.

5. Contacts Permission

The App requests the READ_CONTACTS Android permission to power the invite feature. Granting this permission is optional — all document features work without it.

When you grant Contacts permission, your device's contact list (names and phone numbers) is read and uploaded to our servers (Google Firebase Realtime Database). This data is used only to identify which contacts already use INP DocReader and to let you send invite links to friends.

You may revoke this permission at any time via Android Settings → Apps → INP DocReader → Permissions. Revoking stops future syncs; previously uploaded contacts remain on the server until you request account deletion (see Section 10).

We do not access your contacts for any purpose other than the invite feature described above.

6. Device Information

When you sign in, the following device information is recorded and linked to your account on our servers:

  • Android ID — resets on factory reset
  • Device name, manufacturer, and model
  • Android OS version and SDK level
  • Local IP address at the time of sign-in

This information is used for account management and security monitoring. It is not used for advertising and is not shared with any third party.

7. Firebase and Third-Party Services

INP DocReader uses Google Firebase Realtime Database as its cloud backend. All server-side data described in this policy — account information, contact list, device information, login history, and credits — is stored in Firebase, operated by Google LLC. Firebase's data practices are governed by Google's Privacy Policy (https://firebase.google.com/support/privacy). Data stored in Firebase may be held in data centers located outside your country.

The App also uses:

  • Google Play Install Referrer API — to detect if you installed the App via a friend's invite link, so reward credits can be assigned correctly.
  • libphonenumber — an open-source library used locally on your device to format phone numbers. It does not transmit data.

No advertising SDKs are used. No analytics SDKs other than Firebase are integrated.

8. Data Security

  • Passwords are never stored in plain text. Only a SHA-256 hash of your password is stored.
  • All communication with Firebase occurs over HTTPS/TLS.
  • Document contents are processed on your device and never uploaded to our servers.

No method of electronic storage or internet transmission is completely secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security of data stored on third-party infrastructure.

9. Data Retention

  • Account data (phone number, password hash, credits) — retained until you request deletion.
  • Contact list data — retained until you revoke the Contacts permission and request deletion, or delete your account.
  • Login history and device information — retained for up to 12 months for security purposes.
  • Document files — stored only on your device; we hold no copies.

After account deletion, all personal data is removed from our Firebase database within 30 days.

10. Your Rights and Account Deletion

You have the right to access, correct, or delete the personal data we hold about you. You may also request to restrict processing.

To delete your account and all associated data (phone number, contact list, device records, login history, credits), please email us at asghar67078@gmail.com with the subject line "Account Deletion Request" and include your registered phone number. We will process your request within 30 days.

You may also:

  • Revoke the Contacts permission at any time via Android Settings without deleting your account.
  • Use the App in Guest mode to avoid providing any personal information.
  • Request a copy of the data we hold about you by emailing us.
  • Uninstall the App at any time; local documents remain on your device under your control.

11. Children's Privacy

INP DocReader is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, please contact us at asghar67078@gmail.com and we will promptly delete it.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time as the App evolves or as required by law. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this document. Continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
